So on sunday we had our big event #memoriesmatter and it couldn’t have gone any better! After months of planning, organising and making garments the day finally arrived and we loved every minute. The event was held in paradox in heswall which they let us have free of charge and put on a variety of food and drink offers including roast dinners for £5 of cocktails for 2 for £10 they were great. We all arrived at the venue at 10:30am to set up stalls, the catwalk and the beauty departments ready for the public to arrive at 4pm.

The event went on from 4pm till 8pm and was sponsored by the perfume shop as the chosen charity was for alzheimer’s research which they have a big part in. The perfume shop provided all the models aged from 15 to 70 with a fragrance to match their outfit which they had to spray when walking on the catwalk. The catwalk show was on at 5pm then again at 7pm for this who had missed it. The show showcased a range of different collections by our brand Gifts For Me and You including a beach wear collection, an evening collection, a daytime collection and many more which shown off our clothing range Edith M Williams for spring/summer 2016.

The models went down the catwalk to some inspiring tunes such as beyonce who runs the world and dance tracks by calvin harris which got everyone in the mood to party. As well as the catwalk displays the upstairs of the venue seen wirral independent business stalls such as mbellish, squidges cookies, love lotti and many more who sold items for everyone. Also brands like younique makeup and nails by louise were there giving the public tips on makeup products and files and polishes for a small donation to the alzheimer’s charity which was great.

The day went so well and we raised a huge 4000 pounds in just 4 hours for alzheimers research. We also had a huge raffle on the day which seen great prizes won including a holiday to tenerife, a gucci pashmina and a large range of perfume and beauty products which everyone loved and was thrilled to win. The event was such a success we have decided to hold another one in october and we are already excited. Thank you so much to everyone who helped and came to #memoriesmatter we couldn’t of done it without any of you. Here are some pictures from the day:

Liverpool Half Marathon

So today was a whole different sunday for a few of us at Gifts For Me And You. Not a relaxing sunday most of us usually hope for but instead we decided to run a whole 13 miles are we crazy! We decided early on this year to take part in the liverpool half marathon so we had something to train towards and achieve and we can finally say its complete.

One of us at Gifts For Me And You had already taken part in this event last year and was eager to complete the run again so more of us decided to sign up as well. After months of training the day finally came and it was a tough few hours getting through the course. Most of had trained up to about 10 miles so we knew we could go that far which actually wasn’t too bad on the day. However after those 10 miles the last 3 was an absolute killer but we all encouraged each other through it. Usually us england lot wish for nice weather but today it was way too hot especially on the prom were you couldn’t even feel a hint of breeze.

We finally got to the last mile, all the drums were playing and the crowd was cheering, it was such a great feeling inside especially seeing our family and friends at the finish line. We all got through it together and are so proud of ourselves for completing the whole 13 miles without stopping. So now were all at home relaxing feeling very stiff haha but its back to work tomorrow planning something very special for next sunday. Our big event memories matter for the charity alzheimers research is coming up and we have lots and lots to do, garments to make, setting up to do, advertisements to create so we best get back to it. Thank you for all your support after our big day it was such a great journey and a big achievement.

London Fashion Show

So last weekend a few of us here at Gifts For Me and You went to London for London Fashion Weekend and it was great! We all really enjoyed it and learnt about the new trends coming up this spring/summer. The reason for the trip which we haven’t spoke about yet is that we have been accepted into Liverpool Fashion Week this october were we will showcase our clothing range Edith M Williams. How Exciting! So when we saw London Fashion Week was on we took it as an opportunity to go and do some research on how the shows are put together.

We purchased a silver ticket for the show which meant we could see a show of our choice and get a free designer tote bag full of fashion goodies which included magazines, beauty items and nibbles. The options for the show was either a designer or a trend, we thought the trend show would be more beneficial for us as we could see a variety of different fashion garments and colours that will be popular this year. Before the show started we got a chance to look around the building the saatchi gallery in chelsea and see all the amazing stalls people had there. There was three floors of different stalls including clothing stalls, shoe stalls, jewellery stalls and many more which all contained amazing stylish products we loved everything. Some of us even bought a few items as we couldn’t resist!

As we will be having a table at Liverpool Fashion Week full of our products it was great to see how people set up there stalls and promoted all there items. After having a look around we took our seats at the show and wanted for it to start. The brand for the show was Very which was great as we all have a little soft spot for their clothing. We all took numerous pictures and videos of the show for inspiration and loved all the trends which included bold brights, american style, feminine romance and many more. We loved every minute of it!

Whilst in London we made the most of it and went to see some sites and places we have always wanted to go including convent gardens, notting hill and lots of shops. It was a great weekend and all of us at Gifts For Me and You are now ready for Liverpool Fashion Week. Bring it on!
